Google Sites for Teachers
Google Sites for Teachers This looks like an exhaustive guide/manual for creating a webpage using your Google account. I'll look into it when I have time ;)
Today's Meet
Today's Meet - Here is a way to host an online chat. Students can input from a computer or their cell phone. There is no filter however, so whatever they type in lands on the page. You can project it for class 'discussion'. Would be perfect for an advanced language class.

Video Resources for Educators
Edudemic - I can't wait to get INTO this. It looks so rich and informational. I love videos and think that the students do too. There are so many classroom applications for good videos.

Download YouTube Videos
Here's a tutorial for using KeepVid, if you ever need to download YouTube Videos and save them. Note: The video (depending on size) is not quick to play; when using during class, cue it up! Whew! This works like a CHARM :)

Vocab Grabber
I want to try this voice grabber and see if it could be useful for my advanced students! Nevermind, it is a subscription service $2.95/month. I can find enough free products on the internet.

Song Lyrics
I would like to use more songs and lyrics in the classroom. This website, Learning from Lyrics, may be helpful. It has a good list of associated websites for art and music in the classroom. Music/lyrics/poetry/language = language acquisition.

Link up
I'm trying to figure out what to use for my classroom, blogs, wikis... what will be the easiest to edit and grade? I think that wikis are more powerful but blogs are prettier. Function vs aesthetic.

Audio Boo
I like Audio Boo and have used it before with my moodle. Wow! It did embed. That was tricky. I'm not sure which one worked but I'm glad that it's over!

Extra Credit
Go to the Step Into German website and listen to the Music Video Clip of the Month. On a piece of paper, write a 50-100 word critique of this piece. Be sure to include:
1. The name of the song and the band
2. Your overall impression - would you recommend it to a friend?
3. Could this band and piece of music become popular in the US? Why or Why not???
Put it into the basket at the beginning of class. After the bell ringer, let me know if you'd like to talk to the class about this video at the end of class and I'll get it set up for you :)
My current fav - Marteria!

Blogging might be a good way for students to discuss a translation. Every year my advanced students read several fairy tales from the original Grimm. Then we sit in a circle and discuss their translations - BORING! What if I posted a passage and they completed and commented BEFORE they got to class. Then we could use valuable class time in more productive ways.
How would I hold them accountable? Some kids would do the work and others would complain about computer access and come to class without having done anything.
