Slow German

I haven't played around with this for awhile but it was promising the first time I used it. Slow German news and information podcast. The first episode (for absolute beginners) lasts about 5 minutes.

Wordreference.com  gives not only the definition but phrases.  http://www.linguee.de offers definitions with the words (both English and German) in a contextual reading. http://www.dict.cc is especially good for compound nouns.
